You can often find them on eBay for less than $100. It doesn't actually have all those features, but it's main purpose is portability. If you have a computer at home, that's where you download the words into the format you want. I type, then download via USB cable into an already formatted Word document. I can edit there. I bought an Alphasmart to stay away from distractions. And when you're writing a first draft, editing and fiddling is a distraction. It shows only 4 lines of type and it's kind of a pain to go back and forth, so you're more or less forced to just keep moving forward. Oh, and mine runs on 4 AA batteries and weighs less than a laptop. Fits right into my totebag, too. Try for an Alphasmart. You can often find them on eBay for less than $100.
